The European Maritime Day is celebrated annually in Europe on 20 May. This annual platform welcomes Europe’s growing maritime community joining policy makers to discuss, debate and exchange best practices. The seas and oceans, and the opportunities they offer, are at the heart of the discussions.
The main event is the European Maritime Day Conference, held in a different region each year. This platform welcomes Europe’s growing maritime community, with industry professionals from across the EU joining policymaker to discuss, debate and exchange best practices. Participants come from ports, shipping industries, clusters, environmental associations, trade unions, scientific and research institutions, education, and local, regional, national and European authorities, amongst others.
The largest annual maritime conference in Europe will be held in Piraeus (Greece) on 28 and 29 May 2015. This year, the conference will focus on the role of ports and coasts as gateways to maritime growth. Many events are being organised: political sessions, workshops, face-to-face meetings, exhibitions and a networking reception.
Each year, maritime stakeholders are invited to participate actively in the European Maritime Day Conference to share their experiences. For a full list of events in Europe, please visit: http://ec.europa.eu/maritimeaffairs/maritimeday/en/events-europe
